Mission of The Happy Readers
The mission of The Happy Readers is to give you ideas of books that we have read, as teachers, parents, and children, in order to help you and your children into the wonderful world of reading.
About The Happy Readers
I am the mother of two children to whom I have been reading since infancy. And, it has paid off. They both love to read, and, to be read to. I am a former 1st grade teacher in the inner cities of New York City and Boston. I received a Bachelors of Arts in English Literature from Lake Forest College and a Masters of Science in Education from Bank Street College of Education.
I started this website because I have found it difficult (but not impossible) to find appropriate books to read to my daughter (age 8) and for her to read because the subject matter is too advanced. I am now beginning the search for my son (age 5).
